Enhancements for Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)

In order to ensure that a patient’s ETA is always as accurate as possible, we are in the process of adding some major enhancements to our ETA feature. The improvements below are the first phase. Check out what’s new this month, and keep an eye out for future enhancements!

Recalculate ETA button added on iOS and Android

For those transporting a patient to the hospital, a new “Recalculate” button appears next to the ETA to help EMS ensure a more accurate ETA. EMS can tap “recalculate” to update the ETA for a patient channel based on the geolocation of the EMS device in relation to the destination hospital. Additional updates are in the works to make recalculating ETA even easier.

More detailed display of ETA in Pulsara Web

To give receiving facilities a more specific idea of how much time they have until an incoming patient arrives, we improved Pulsara Web to show a more detailed ETA. For example: If there is one hour and 15 minutes until a patient arrives, the ETA will now read “1 hr 15 min” rather than rounding to the nearest hour. The estimated time of arrival can be viewed by clicking the clock icon next to the ETA.

Who’s Impacted: Hospital and healthcare facility team members will see this improvement in Pulsara HQ, and all EMS providers will see this change in Pulsara Web.

Edit ETA in Pulsara Web

Previously, ETA could only be updated on an iOS or Android device once a patient channel was created. In order to best aid all workflows, we added the ability to update ETA in Pulsara Web.

Who’s Impacted: EMS could already set ETA in Pulsara Web when creating a patient channel, and now they can edit ETA for active patient channels.

Change Patient Type from “General” in Pulsara HQ and Pulsara Web

Have you ever started a patient channel with the General patient type, and needed to change it as the patient’s case unfolds? This handy feature has been available in iOS and Android, and now it’s available in Pulsara HQ and Pulsara Web, too.

What’s new: EMS and healthcare facility team members using Pulsara Web and Pulsara HQ, respectively, can change a patient’s type from General to one of Pulsara’s 11 other patient types. This action can be taken once per patient channel.
