Critical Alerts in Pulsara for iOS

Pulsara iOS users are strongly encouraged to enable critical alerts for Pulsara Notifications. The Critical Alerts feature provides the following benefits:

  • In Do Not Disturb mode, your device will continue to show and make a sound for Pulsara alerts when alerts from other applications are suppressed
  • Pulsara new patient alerts will make a sound even if you have muted your device by turning the volume all the way down or if the physical mute button is enabled

These behaviors help ensure you will not miss a new patient alert in Pulsara.

To enable Critical Alerts for your Pulsara Notifications follow these steps:

Login into the Pulsara application and navigate to the side navigation drawer. Tap "My Call Status."

Tap the three dots in the upper right corner and select Enable Critical Alerts

In the prompt that appears, tap “Settings.”

Select Notifications

Enable Critical Alerts

The next time a new patient appears it will be a Critical Alert.

Note: Critical Alerts for Pulsara will create alerts that do not honor your device's volume settings. Critical Alerts will always be heard regardless of your device volume and mute status to ensure you do not miss a patient alert in Pulsara

To modify critical alert volume in Pulsara, open Settings -> Critical Alert Volume. Simply move the Critical Alert Volume slider to the desired location and tap Save.

To test the critical alert volume selected, tap Send Test Alert.

NOTE: The critical alert in Pulsara does not use the volume setting on your phone which is used for other media. This is intentional due to the design of critical alerts which allow alerting at a specified volume regardless of your overall phone volume setting.

If you wish to disable Critical Alerts or enable them at any time, you can also open up your device settings and tap on Notifications -> Pulsara. In the upper corner, there is a toggle that allows you to turn Critical Alerts (Allow Critical Alerts) on or off. Slide the toggle to on or off respectively.
