Face ID Authentication for iOS Mobile Devices

Pulsara iOS users on version 50 or higher now have the option to use Face ID for login and/or PIN in for Pulsara on iOS.

  • Fingerprint ID can be used in place of Face ID on older devices that do not support Face ID.
  • Manual input of username & password or PIN can still be used for accessing the application.
  • This feature is not supported on devices running Pulsara that are used by multiple people
  • The phone running Pulsara must have the Face ID feature enabled under Settings

 

To set up Face ID navigate to the settings in Pulsara Mobile

 

 

Tap Face ID

 

 

Toggle the buttons to enable Face ID for Password and/or PIN

 

 

Enter your Pulsara Password and PIN.

 

 

Tap Save.

 

 

When logging in with a Username and Password or PIN now to Pulsara Mobile, the option to use Face ID will be available. 

 

 

Note: In certain scenarios, the Mobile App will display “Tap to use Face ID” below the Face ID icon. For example, this message will appear after manually logging out of Pulsara. To use Face ID, simply tap the Face ID icon and look at your phone to be automatically logged in.

 

Multi-Entity Face ID

If you work at multiple agencies and have a personal device, each account is able to be set up to log in with Face ID.

 

To enable Face ID at multiple agencies, follow the steps above for each personal account that you would like Face ID enabled.

 

When Face ID is enabled for multiple Pulsara accounts on a personal device, when you “Tap to use Face ID” you will be prompted to select an account to sign in with as seen below. 

 

 

Additional Information:

  • If your account password has been changed while Face ID is enabled via Forgot Password, you will need to update your Face ID settings in order to enable Face ID for login again. 

Users who’s Username and Password are managed in an external IDP will not have the option to use Face ID for login. External IDP users will be able to use Face ID for PIN.
